in subtle, yet quite dramatic ways.
One of the aspects is how they find themselves being with people,
and how people are being with them.
In seeing people, and themselves more clearly, many things
are becoming more obvious.
To make this a little more clear, imagine that you go into a working class
pub later in the evening when the occupants have drunk a lot of alcohol.
Their level of awareness is pretty obvious isn’t it - to you, but not to
them.
So as you start to awaken, you begin to see people and their behaviour
more clearly. And your own behaviour in response to their behaviour.
(Embarrassing eh.)
One thing to consider is that most of our life is devoted to attempting
to avoid the moment, just as it is - so in order to do that
we are continuously trying to amuse ourselves. Escape through amusement.
What this most often means, in regard to people is, we compromise.
We spend time with people who are equally trying to avoid the moment -
in any way possible, so no great depth is touched.
As you start to wake up you start to become aware of this process,
get embarrassed, and then no longer feel to continue with this unconscious
behaviour.
Then something else happens.
As you are no longer attempting to avoid the moment so much,
each moment becomes more satisfying, so you do not feel the need
to compromise.
In this state a stillness happens and you find that you no longer need to
‘do’ connecting with people. In fact, unless the person reaches out to you,
you have no motivation to connect with them.
So it becomes obvious - that you respond equally
to the way people reach out to you. Lovely.
Happy responding ...
