Paul Lowe on Being Depressed

Seems to happen to most people at some time doesn't it. (Unless very cut
off.)

Some people more than others, some more often, some deeper.

Have to stay with this one...
*Depression is resistance.*

I know, I know - chemicals, brain disturbances, childhood and other
situations.
Please go deeper - because there is another level. Always is.

Just taking the depression as it is- go deeper.
You will find there is an attitude about the situation - complaint and
resistance?

If you just accept that you are depressed, does not mean it will go away -
but you may go away from the depression. It is like taking some types of
pain killer - somewhere you can feel that the head is still aching - but
you feel removed from the ache.

So, being with what is. Depression is there? So depression is there.
Not fighting; not resisting; not complaining - just letting it be there.
Watch for any trickiness. We are not suggesting you be there with it in
order for it to go away, we are saying, just be with it -not knowing.

You may not be aware of this: usually, you are your own biggest critic.
Of course it is not really you, it is the ghostly voices of your
past/present still rattling around in your brain: 'you should be like
this, and not like that.'

Don't take it seriously. Experiment. Just have the depression, and check
out what is your maximum potential while embracing the situation - just as
it is.

In fact - go deeper still. If you go deep enough you may find that part of
you is actually generating the depression. Addiction.
I know it does not make sense - we are not logical beings.

So depression is there. Are you the depressed?
Is that you? Is that not just the body/mind/emotions - your vehicle?
There is another part you know - the essential you.
That part is never deeply touched - by anything.
Even in tears of joy - that other part is always there. The essential you.
(Until you stop identifying with that part as well! Then what!
You will find out when you get there- and get there you will.

Coming soon to a 'vehicle' - very near to what you call you.
