WAR

What difference does it make to the
dead, the orphans, and the homeless,
whether the mad destruction is
wrought under the name of
totalitarianism or the holy name of
liberty and democracy?
~ Mohandas Gandhi

I don’t think people realise — from what we know of, we have never had peace
on this planet -- as a species we have always been at war.
People say that the Africans started fighting each other after the Europeans
left, the Arabs after Hussein was defeated, Hindus and Muslims after the
British left, etc, yet Africans have always fought each other, and Arabs,
Hindus and Christians — almost everybody invading and fighting everybody.

We say it is the few in power, yet they do not do the actual killings -- it
is us citizens that do the slaughter and rape and plunder. Always have.
And anyway there are fights at almost every level -- religions within
religions, and families within families.
And those religious fanatics/extremists!

The wars are just an extension of the vibration of our collective
consciousness. We say we want peace yet there is little evidence from almost
anybody in almost any situation. Just a few. Even the peace movements fight
within themselves. I happen to know that.
We are a fighting, greedy and argumentative species.

As you say, if enough of us really wanted peace we would all get together
and work it out. Each section of people would have land to themselves and be
left alone to live in their own way. But of course, this wouldn't work out
either -- because each religion, each little section would want what they
want, their way -- right down to the family feuds.
As a whole humans are a aggressive, self-centred species and addicted to...
MORE.

And would we stand by and watch people in other countries being abused?
Although of course that is what we are doing now. We only interfere when it
conveniently brings gain.

There are many interpretations of the Israel situation.
I have read many, yet I still do not feel I have got the full story.
Most reports seem biased one way or the other.

Although there is strong historical evidence to the contrary -- at least as
far as the dates are concerned, as far as I can make out one interpretation
says that the Jews left Egypt and wandered in the desert until god told them
they are the chosen people and the land they were approaching is theirs for
the taking.
According the Old Testament they are following the word of their god:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

From a recent www.whatreallyhappened.com...
The Old Testament and the genocide in Gaza:

"You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.
Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten
thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you."
(Leviticus, Chapter 26, verses 7-9)

"When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess
and drives out before you many nations … then you must destroy them totally.
Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy."
(Deuteronomy 7:1-2)

"…do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them … as
the Lord your God has commanded you…"
(Deuteronomy 20:16)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

But then the Palestinians shows 'evidence' that their god said the land was
theirs. And so on.

Then there is a gap in my knowledge because the next thing I know is that
the Palestinians had the land back again -- and the English invaded, left
again, and before they went gave some of the land to the Jews?

Then the Jews invaded and occupied some more land, the UN said naughty, and
the Jews did what they wanted anyway. Is it that simple? UN did not approve
of the Iraq war either -- but it didn't make any difference did it. The UN
seems just a name and an occupation for some well-meaning people?

Of course if the Arabs feel they have lost their land they are going to
fight back -- anyway they can. And if the Jews feel attacked they want to
stop it -- anyway they can. And so on.

According to what I am seeing on the news Hamas was voted in democratically.
And they do seem to have said that they want Israel removed! Big conflict.

Incidentally, according to the alternative news the rockets said to be fired
into Israel by Hamas have landed mostly in empty car parks and fields?
And almost no causalities? And the rockets are supposed to be supplied by
Iran -- yet they have markings that are not Iranian?

Not directly connected is another strange thing -- America continues to
supply arms and at least three billion dollars a year -- and the standard of
living is much worse in America. I can understand American Jews wanting to
support their homeland, but taking it out of the public taxes when people
are losing their jobs and houses, and they do not have medical support?
Strange.

Back to the human race. Everybody has always invaded everybody.
If everybody had to retreat to their own 'original' land where would
everybody go!
America would be left to the indigenous people as would Australia -- and
almost every other so-called country in the world. And who was there before
the American Indians and the Australian Aborigines anyway? And so on.

Yes, in theory we could sit down and talk it out. I have been doing that for
seventy years and I have found that no one will hear anything they do not
want to hear. And what they want to hear -- is what they want to hear --
which is what will benefit them.

I have spent time in Arab countries and enjoyed their hospitality, and I
also know many people with a Jewish background. In very different ways they
are somewhat the same -- both very powerful people. As I understand it
although it not easy to see, they are both from the same roots/stock.
Same as the Chinese and Japanese, and Sikhs and Hindus. Amazing what
evolution can bring about.

In one way the whole way everything is on this planet seems utterly, utterly
hopeless. How can anything change until the fundamental level of
consciousness changes -- within at least the majority of us, and there is
absolutely no great signs of that. A few, yes, but if you go even into some
of their lives you will find bias, stress, jealousy and conflict.

We do have a few people on the planet who are living a life larger than
themselves. Great. Thank you. Just to mention a few that we know personally:
Kira Kay spends time in Nepal establishing and supporting schools,
orphanages, and developing micro financing. Trudie Styler and Sting raise
large amounts of money for many humanitarian projects and Trudie visits the
situations in Ecuador and the rain forests with hands-on help seeing that
the money gets spent on the intended projects and not 'diverted.' Clare
Finiator is hands-on in South America, Mia running the media store for
distributing Paul's sharing's. Clare Solway is devoted to her sharing's. And
some others of course. But most people live their lives for themselves.
Of course it can include their family, but very rarely anything beyond that.

And does it really matter? A beautiful person wrote recently that although
they knows on one level that everything is always perfect, they sob when
they sees the suffering  -- especially the children.

If we believe just the theory of the mind then there is good and evil, right
and wrong, benefit and harm, yet the ones who have become what we term
'enlightened' say this is not so -- this is a very limited perspective and
there is something beyond the mind and its restrictions.

Maybe everything is for the best. Maybe we are creating everything that is
happening to give us an opportunity to see ourselves and the other side of
reality more clearly -- and let go of our projected judging.

Oh there is so, so much more to this dimension than we are consciously
experiencing.

As I see it, everything that is happening, at anytime, anywhere, is an
opportunity to expand our consciousness.

Happy expanding...
