In fact, religions and spiritual practices are not only stupid – they don’t work.
Thousands of years – and look at the state of the world! Practices are not
real; not of this world. What we need is something ‘ordinary.’

(And there is the need to acknowledge – the possibility that if some people
were not in deep meditation on behalf of the planet – it might be a lot
worse. But then, maybe we need it to get worse to get us really moving.)

And so often these people are so serious. No juicy fun life in them.
As though ‘being holy’ is more valuable than being fully alive.
And they can can be seducing – because they are ‘good people.’

Brother David says being grateful can be a practice – but a practice is not
a way to live. Practice is separate from life and living. What we need is
gratefulness as a way of life. A whole orientation to the way we live our
every-moment life. We need to dance it, sing it, celebrate it.

And as we shared, how to get over the message?
Only one way I have found – by example.

And that is not a casual remark. Look into the private lives of many of the
people who are ‘preaching’ and it will be found that they are not living
what they are saying. Words on their own do not carry the frequency and
vibration of support.
