·       Are you anxious about the current state of the world and looking for a way to pitch in?

If you answered YES to two or more of these questions than you are being called on to become a Sacred Activist –what author Andrew Harvey defines as a humble and divine agent of change to birth a new world of compassion, peace , justice and harmony.

In his new book, THE HOPE: A GUIDE TO SACRED ACTIVISM (Hay House), Harvey sounds an urgent clarion call to all who care deeply about the future of humanity and of the planet. “We need to not only fix the existing system but radically transform it so we no longer, by our choices, threaten our lives or the lives of millions of species,” declares Harvey

Harvey’s vision has already been embraced by leading luminaries and activists including Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, David Tucker (Executive Director, Pachamama Alliance), Seane Corn, Caroline Myss, Julia Butterfly Hill, James O’Dea and more. THE HOPE reveals how the large-scale practice of Sacred Activism can become an essential way for preserving and healing the planet and its inhabitants. Harvey believes the current crisis at hand drives us towards the positive practice of justice, equality and harmony with nature such as the new movements towards ecological sustainability, social justice and non-violence, the advent of new alternative forms of technology and energy, and more.

In his book, Harvey offers seven powerful laws for Sacred Activism including: Sacred Practice, Surrendering to the Divine, Constant Humble Shadow work, the Alchemy of Anger, Recognizing and Protecting Ourselves from Evil, Joy and Networks of Grace.

Through these laws he shows that neither the noble, pragmatic work of the activist nor the passive spirituality of the individual is enough to change the world. These two must be fused to become an unstoppable force of transformational love and compassion in action to affect meaningful change --beginning with ourselves.

This year Harvey officially launched The Institute for Sacred Activism , which offers a year-long global curriculum for implementing his philosophy and vision and is dedicated to continuing the tremendous work of extraordinary ordinary people such as Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks and Desmond Tutu. Each of these individuals rose up to meet the challenges of their time with great spiritual grace and integrated inner contemplation with decisive action.

THE HOPE lays out a conscious road map for preserving our future and birthing a new divine humanity.

“It captures the essential mystery, with flair” - Larry Dossey, Author

Sir Arthur Edington said: "Something unknown is doing we don't know what;" which sort of sums up everything we know about existence. My new friend Renee Scheltema has made an amazing film with that title. It has been called "one of the most artistic, comprehensive, beautiful, clear, fair and visionary documentaries on parapsychology and science."

While many talking heads type psuedo-spiritual films in the last few years have opened people up to new ways of knowing, this film cuts across all boundaries and makes a great leap into the mainstream. This is a film that you can take the most skeptical anti-spiritual nudge to and have them raise their eye brows (in a good way) about what they will find here. Renee takes her own jounrey into the scienctific exploration of what psi researcher Charles Tart calls the "Big Five:"-Telepathy, Clairvoyancy, Psychic Healing, Telekinesis and Remote Viewing. Also featured in the film are many other scientists that bridge the world of mind and spirit such as: Hal Puthoff on remote viewing, Dean Radin on claiviyance, Larry Dorsey on psychic Healing, Gary Schwartz, Edgar Mitchel,  Roger Nelson of Princeton,  Rupert Sheldrake and many other scienctists that are forging a new paradigm of noetic science ( the science of consciousness).

http://www.somethingunknown.com/

The film's synopsis is:

Is it possible that some people can read your mind, "Telepathy"? or look into the future, "Clairvoyancy"? Why is it that some people can cure themselves while in the last stages of a deadly cancer, "Healing"? . Does mind over matter really exist, and if so, how do we explain this "Telekinesis"?

In the US millions of people claim to ‘see’ distant objects or places "Remote Viewing". Are they fooling us, or do they really see something? Do we have quantum-brains? And where is the boundary between 'real' magical powers and fraud? Can these ‘miracles of the mind’ be explained?

These and more questions will be answered in the quirky feature documentary “Something Unknown is doing we don't know what ” 104’ min by Dutch filmmaker Renée Scheltema, who was inspired to explore the realms of psychic phenomena after a series of curious and unexplainable events happened around her all in a short period of time.

She travelled to the US to meet up with the top scientists, para-psychologists, psychologists, physicians, and doctors within the field of research, like Prof Charles Tart, Prof Gary Schwartz and Dr Dean Radin. Along the way she collects anecdotal stories from celebrities within the field, such as psychic detective Nancy Myer, author Arielle Ford, and astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell.

Renée found that experiments of today reveal how science is verifying numerous kinds of connections : 'mind to mind'; 'mind to body' and 'mind to world', demonstrating that psychic abilities are part of our inherent nature.

"There are only two ways to live your life:
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is.
I believe in the latter"
- Albert Einstein

Recently Alan Steinfeld, the founder of NewRealities was featured in an interview in The Greek Yoga World Magazine.  This is transcript of that interview with Lena Adamopoulos, editor of the magazine

Alan Steinfeld. New Realities has been the leading edge, new Consciousness cable program broadcast from New York for the last 15 years. The series is hosted and produced by Alan Steinfeld. Programs are seen every Monday night local cable 9pm New York time and simulcast on http://mnn.org There are also hundreds of his interviews available on youtube.com/newrealities for the curious about the unknown.

I firmly believe that -- 'A mind stretched to new realities never returns to its original dimension.'  - Alan Steinfeld

Lena Adamopoulos: While many are speaking about expansion of consciousness and spiritualists present us a multileveled universe, you suggest “new realities”. Is Aldus Huxley one of your influences?

Alan Steinfeld:  Aldus Huxley, was one of the founders of a new way to perceive the world.  Actually it is an old way of perceiving based on the awareness that we are consciousness first, before we can identity with anything else.  What he called “perennial philosophy” (the philosophy of eternal return to source).  This is what the mystics of all times were tapped into. And they through the expansion of perception have opened new horizons of our world.

LA:  When you speak for the expansion of our conscious, according to your terms, are you speaking of a collective consciousness or of an internal and individual one?
AS: This is a very good question, but lets not forget that were going through a change of season, in which we are beginning to realise that we are a fractal of the collective consciousness.  The whole contains the part and the part contains the whole.

Meaning, each one of us is a piece of this collective consciousness and simultaneously included in the entirety.   We can now know what's happening on the other side of our planet immediately, and this shows us that each one of us are cells of a bigger organism of humanity. However, the collective consciousness is also an undivided whole. Thus we need to invent a new language for our perceptions of reality.  This is precisely what “new realities” is about.  We cannot evaluate the actual reality with the old terms anymore. We need a new language, new sense, new feelings.  And with this new language we have the articulation of something that is being added to our reality.  So in order to answer your question it is both a collective and an individual consciousness. The next step is that we realise that while our consciousness is expanding we are all a piece of all.  And with this awareness comes the next level which is our participation in a cosmic culture.

LA:  In the passed decades we had a lot talk about personal growth and specifically in the West, now this tendency expands through out the world. And yoga, that has made the teachings available to all…is spirituality what a human can cultivate, which is beyond personal growth, the individual joy… or is also spirituality a field which a person will explore with the motive for happiness?
AS: I believe that you cannot get around your personal growth. There exists a basic reality, lets say, which constitutes the individual. The daily routine of cleanness of the body, and all that is where it all begins, in each cell, it’s a natural mechanism of the system, and is a part of the whole process. Yoga is a great way to cleanse the body, and it can offer internal experiences however we needed to realise that the development is beyond the individual level that we are connected with everything around us. We have to work with this. I have heard someone describe it as the care of a precious gem that in order to shine we should burnish daily. Yoga also proposes this, you make your disciplines each day, and you cannot consider that you are doing actual work if you don’t do it daily and you do it once in a while, because it this is the process towards your own development in a path where you are becoming more realised. The mystics named this the Great Work in alchemical terms, and they spoke of the vehicle, you cannot bypass your personal work. We all have our “stuff” and we should work with that. This is the only way in order to be well and peaceful and serve our self as much as the others. Have you seen the film Groundhogs Day ? This film shows a person who eventually learns in the daily repetition of his mundane reality to maximizes his capabilities in each minute to achieve his maximum potential.   It is only then that we wake up from the nightmare of an old reality of our mundane dramas.  The story is described precisely the way through individual development a person has found a way to serve himself and the whole. That is an effective way to become wise and enlightened which is something all of us want whether we realise it or not.

Sure we re evolving, some are going slow while others are going fast. We are definitely going towards the same direction perhaps it is inevitable. What do you think?
AS: If we think about what this moment is happening on the planet, we all observe an acceleration of evolution. An example is the internet which gives us access anywhere in the world  any moment. Marshall McLuhan has said: “Technology is an extension of our senses.” I believe that the internet is an extension of our nervous system and this accelerates development because when the imagination and technology function together incredible things can happen…for an example at this moment everyone has access to other “spiritual realities” via their computer…

LA:  Do you think there are dangerous aspects to spirituality?
AS: Is there danger to being more aware?  What do you precisely mean by the term “dangerous”?

LA:  I mean that in the past people feared other spiritual realities, the disciplines of yoga prepare you because when kundalini is awakened it can arouse you to vibrations you aren’t ready for, and I believe that the disciplines are in order to accelerate the development. Do you believe there is always a natural process in our development?
AS:  My theory is that there has existed a problem, a misconception or degrading of what we mean by saying “personal development”. I believe that what arises is naturally in the frame of our personal development, and is inevitable things that should be worked in us, and we cant get around that anyway. Evolution for me implies that something much bigger is approaching humanity.

I do not know precisely what this could be but I believe that something much greater and admirable is ready to be revealed and that the dogmas’ of “isms” have kept people limited.   Yoga is an example because it is not a religion however by certain rituals it was made into a religion. So we cannot continue following anything dogmatically.  We should continue expanding consciousness, and know that the philosophies of limitations from the past aren’t valid for the modern world.   The human today is a much more evolved being, from that of the past, who created those ways of thinking.  This is not to say that there is not truth and wisdom in old philosophies, it is just the organization and beliefs around them have to change.

LA:  Are faculties psi what the human develops slowly through the teachings of the past and do you think the teachings helped in this? Is it possible for us to revive in us the faculties of our ancestors, come in contact with the muses with the demigods, with energy entities in nature or even with extraterrestrial energies?
AS: Yes sure, I believe that part of what we are expecting is all that you mentioned, and behind the idea of “new realities” is this new prospect that we all already have the faculty to have experiences from extra - dimensional fields, and all these entities as the ancient gods have accessibility and have escaped from mythical sphere and are already found in a field open to the experience of all. And with regard to extraterrestrials, I believe they are here, that they have technology and that they are here in order to help in our development, even if the development will be a slow process, because humanity is not entirely ready and it will take some time in order for all this to open to all of us. I do not believe that they are negative beings though there are many theories. Nevertheless I believe there will be a slow awakening and that perhaps only a few are ready for this, and those of us who are really ready, lets go for it lets open our minds to new horizons and to a universal culture!

LA:  Will 2012 be an actual date of real transformation, a time gate to an absolutely “new reality”?
AS: I have heard a lot of opinions about 2012.  I agree with Terence McKenna who says that its time to look at the nature of time.  I like what he suggests by his phrase “Something is at the end of time and is casting its shadow backwards over human history, drawing all human becoming toward it.” I believe that in 2012 is a date that will define something like the world conscience- a global consciousness.

Even if we cannot predict what will happen in the future because “the future is always an unknown”;  we can however say that in 2012 a planetary awakening will happen.  I say this because this chronology was a prediction of the Mayas and other ancient cultures.  Speaking with a Mayan translator recently in th Yucatan, he said 2012 is the end of the era of space and the beginning of the era of air.  What this could mean I believe, has to do with a wider significance of transformation of history as we know it up to today. Lets take as an example this country, the U.S. where Obama is a conjunction so many ideals, we do not know if he will do something with all that or not, but he represents a symbol of a new history and a new type of leader for the American people. He is not an ego driven guy, and we can characterize him with what initially the ancient philosophers meant with the term “public servant”. That is to say he is a leader who will stay out of the way and serve the people, like Solon a relative of Plato had expressed about the eminent leader, he simply fulfils the laws while simultaneously lets the state control itself.  2012 may be about all that, if we put a borderline in the history and its developments. I believe that its about individual and collective awakening, new prospects of collaboration between people, I do not believe that it is about inversion of poles or such things, as many have forecasted. I believe that we are passing an economic crisis, and some hard times and I believe there exists always a positive outcome to evolution. Potentially it has to do with new discoveries that offer new fields for our observation of  new realites.

LA:  What the scientists discovering about the sun and black matter, and we now observe how matter develops, is it a tendency of new things that we observe in the universe now but ancient cultures did have this knowledge? In other words do you believe that an era of ignorance is ending where we rediscover things of antiquity?
AS: I believe that we are coming out of an era of the myth of evolution and are entering in a spiritual world of wisdom discovering that each one us is an eternal, divine existence. And this will be commonly acceptable in this new era.

Does perhaps all this extra DNA that we discovered with the fracture of the code of DNA, reveal in us new fields to conquest? Or is spirituality opposite with such type aspects of knowledge, that is to say the territorial tendency of technology?
AS: Yes I do consider that true spirituality means that we are not simply matter, we are much more than our body and I think more people are becoming aware of that.   And yoga is also now widespread and this was not how it was in the past, 20 - 30 years ago… The extraterrestrial are here a long time now but have selected to remain in the backstage, however I believe from my own experiences, that they are here in order to help in our evolution and already have influenced human consciousness. They wait for us to mature in order to we take part inside a bigger culture. It is a joke to believe that we are the only type of existence that exists in the Universe as we believed that Earth was flat at some time in the past of human history, however this has been void and we now know the truth. We cant be the only species with intelligence in the Universe. On the contrary we are by now speaking of many kinds of beings that exist with cultures superior to us and their technology is also much superior to the one that we know, or that we could possibly imagine. And to overcome the myth that we have created the only culture in the Universe, I believe  will bring much bigger collectiveness and evolving in the culture of our planet and also, I believe that it will be an introduction to a much superior technology, and this will change how we live. New changes are coming and 2012 represents exactly that.

Are you writing a book based on your ideas?
AS: I am writing a book on art as a manifestion of teh unknown tand its ability to create new realities. I consider that the ideas that mould new realities come through the artistic inspiration initially, because the artist always searches for new forms of perception. And this is the role of the artist, the artist is the modern shaman. New forms and shapings, (formation), that bring new knowledge- “In-formation” is the articulation of new pattens that give rise to new emotions and feelings.  I give lectures on conceiving new ways to perceive the world. The faculty of imagination makes the humanity separate from each other type of life on the planet.

William Blake had said: “The imagination of man, in humanity, is our humanity.” We cannot ignore this because this is what makes us differ from animals. Nature is beautiful, but nature does not have the conscioous imagination to create art.  Art is exclusively a human ability. We all have this incredible faculty of imagination with which we can enter into unknown fields and bring back from there what we do not know in order to replace what we know, and the artist should continuously replace the familiar with the unfamiliar. This is his role, creating new realities.

Which in your opinion, is the fastest way for personal growth. It is through the writings of the wise or through our own experimentation and personal discovery?
AS: Sure I would say the personal experimentation, because the books can give us knowledge, we however, want wisdom, to become wiser, because this transforms our life and its quality. Books can offer you knowledge however the experiences are what will bring wisdom and then you can confirm what you experienced in the book, but somebody through meditation and experimentation will discover truth. You should discover your own fears and repressions in order for you to advance and you need to face your obstacles, the a books cannot do this for you.

Yes, and after you have adapted, you will continue…

AS: It is an endless process, and most people see it as work, they complain all the time, they do not want to be in this process, however if you think about it, it is substantially the “Great Work” of each one of us and we could see it as a challenge…

Perhaps. if we had a way to be cured since young age, and exceeded the fear of death and the restriction of time…
AS: But we do have the way to be cured, simply if we were taught, and I believe that part of quantum physics is what is here to tell us and convince us that we are the observers of our own life. If we stop being involved in our own personal drama and observe oneself, and see it all as a fragment of the  human experience - I know that it is really easy to say, but with practice we can think differently - if we can go out of oneself and observe our personal drama then we can say… “its all right, this an awful experience, however what can I learn from this? ”, then maybe we can find peacefulness in each situation. Letting in the experience, observing the effect in our body, accepting absolutely what happens, simultaneously with the absolute acceptance we also avoid becoming victimized. It is a subtle balance. I believe that most people feel that they are victims and strike back and they perpetuate and continue a war daily, with anger and fear. Is not easy, however this is our work and this is what will contribute to the planetary transformation.

What is that we can do in order to coordinate ourselves with the planetary evolution?
AS: The faculty of imagination is that people beginning to entrust, will open new realities for them and will transform their life, beginning with different small things that each one of us can incorporate in his everyday routine, for example eating something different each day, going to work taking a different route when we can, such small things will open new passages and will invite new things to happen. And this is difficult because humans are such creatures of habit. And here comes the need for the spiritual discipline that will give the motive to make things different, and to begin to think differently. Books are also a world in each one and we learn from, as so is each person. people too. However once again it will be important if we bring the experiences in the material world because nothing would have importance if it remained in the sphere of the imagination. We should be grateful for this existence.

Who it is your opinion on the tantric teachings? I believe you give lectures on Tantra.
AS: I believe that the tantrik teaching is very deep. And many great teachers describe our material world as the body of the divine mother. That is to say that the life that we experience is substantially inside the body of the divine mother, and our experience here is in the actual body of the great Mother. We cannot forget the material body.   We must find a subtle balance between the two aspects of existence. I do not believe there is fear in the spiritual world as it does not exist in the material, because all are part of human experience and all are for us. The teachers and the teachings should encourage evolution, also in the one, but also in the whole aspect of life, because it is not about religion but the human experience.  Chinese medicine  talks about the elements in terms of cosmic questions: “Water is the seed that asks; who you are?  Wood is the sprout that asks -what are you here to do? Fire- the flower:- where you re going?  Earth, the fruit- how you re going to get there? Metal-the harvest-who you will bring with you?

When we begin with the question “who am I” we start with the self;  you must know who you a re first.   That is the seed of consciousness that allows us to look outside of ourselves to gain a greater perceptions to integrate greater realities.  Isn’t that the question that launched Greek philosophy and essentially all of Western thought.  It is what the oracle at Delphi said:  “Know thyself!”   A greater expansion of the Delphic directive is translated as “Know thyself and you will know the gods and the Kosmos.”

A startling new discovery known as EFT, (emotional freedom technique) combining ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology, is featured in a new DVD entitled TRY IT ON EVERYTHING: THE REVOLUTION STARTS WITHIN (Try It Productions/ March 1, 2009). Ten participants join EFT practitioners for a retreat that changes their lives forever.  From healing grief, chronic back pain, insomnia, addictions and phobias their profound, personal transformations offer evidence of EFT’s effectiveness as a revolutionary healing modality.
Leading wellness experts, physicians and best-selling authors including Dr. Norm Shealy, Cheryl Richardson, Jack Canfield, Bruce Lipton, Ph.D, Dr. Joseph Mercola, Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale, Dr. Patricia Carrington and more also discuss the healing power and benefits of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and testify to its astounding ability to transform myriad psychological and physical ailments.
“When I found EFT, I was startled by the results, I knew I had to find a way to get this information into the mainstream. This film shows REAL people getting REAL results. We don’t just talk about what EFT can do, we show how it alters the lives of 10 participants and their results are astounding,” states the film’s producer and EFT practitioner Nicolas Ortner.

EFT (also known as tapping) is rapidly gaining worldwide recognition as a healing modality that offers tangible results. The healing concepts that it’s based upon have been in practice in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. Like acupuncture and acupressure, EFT is a set of techniques which utilize ancient Chinese meridian points to relieve emotional distress and physiological pain. It’s a powerful, self-administered technique where you stimulate meridian points by tapping on them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body's own energy and healing power--combined with verbal statements that acknowledge and address the issue.
EFT yields remarkable results. In fact, psychologists, healers and physicians are now using EFT to provide relief from chronic pain, emotional problems, disorders, addictions, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder, and physical diseases.

TRY IT ON EVERYTHING chronicles the astounding transformation of 10 “real life” participants struggling with everything from giving up cigarettes to conquering a fear of public speaking. Their inspiring stories unfold before our eyes including:
•    Jodi –who released the pain brought on by fibromyalgia
•    Jonathon—a Vietnam war veteran combats his PTSD and chronic back pain
•    Rene—after losing his wife in a car crash, he resolves his deep grief  and depression to move forward with his life
•    Donna--A breast cancer survivor tackles her insomnia
These touching, personal stories and more are woven with wisdom and insight from some of today’s leading luminaries and experts. This insightful documentary reveals the genuine effectiveness and validity of EFT as a modern day healing modality that can transform the world.
TRY IT ON EVERYTHING DVD features include instructions on EFT and “How to Tap” and a “Making of the Film” commentary. The DVD (and a companion book by Patricia Carrington, Ph.D) is available for purchase at  www.tryitoneverything.com  Running time: 86 minutes

Ths book is a whole new reality for most of us who are use to the old realites.  As it turns out- Radiation is not what we thought it was and most of us are radiation deficient.  Natural raditon is good for us while man-made radition is harmful   it has the ability to inaugurate a whole revoluton on health care, resulting in saving lives as well as reducing the prohibitive cost (as well as toxicity) of present-day health-care.

The book written by Jane G. Goldberg, Ph.D. with Jay Gutierrez. Also available is its companion DVD, created also by Jane G. Goldberg, with Paula Gloria.  Goldberg says: “We need to Get Back to the Basics. We Need to go back to the Age of the Stone (a little like the stone-age, but without the hardships and deprivations – without needing to make fire with sticks).”

Through either serendipity or divine guidance (choose your interpretation), Jay Gutierrez re-discovered knowledge that has been known since the dawn of civilization: the healing power of radioactive stones.  The concept of  using low-level radiation for therapeutic purposes, called in medical literature “radiation hormesis,” has 100 years of solid scientific research behind it, and thousands of medical studies to support it.

Did you know...
            * Survivors of Nagasaki and Hiroshima have not died in droves from radiation-induced cancers, or for any other reason; in fact, they are living longer than normal predicted life-span.
            * High radon levels in homes is predictive of LOWERED lung cancer rates -- and all other cancers -- as well.
            * Live high, live longer: Those who live in areas with high background radiation live longer than those who live in low background radiation areas (high altitude Colorado is best for not getting cancer; low altitude southeast U.S. is worse for getting cancer).

Jay’s unique contribution has been to find a delivery system that brings this powerful healing technology to all of us, within the comfort of our own homes. He spent five years searching for the stones (in remote areas of Utah and Wyoming, accessible only by helicopter); figuring out how to get the stones out of their natural habitat (dynamiting without shattering the rock); bringing them back to his workshop (long helicopter and truck rides); slicing up the stones (with the precision of a jeweler), analyzing the stones for their chemical composition (with the aid of chemical laboratories), perfecting the dosage for human application (through many willing and cooperative volunteer patients), and packaging the stones for usage (thank you Cisco and Adam, Jay’s right-hand men). Over the last 15 years, Jay has worked with over 2000 patients, and has cured diseases as serious as stage-IV cancers as well as a host of less serious afflictions including macular degeneration, arthritis, MS, and more.

Read the history of this powerful and eminently effective technology. Discover the politics that relegated it into obscure medical history. Find out why it is a leading modality of treatment in many other countries, performed in hospitals, clinics and spas, and covered by most insurance plans. Take this journey with Jay, Jane and Paula, and be amazed, outraged, delighted, moved, surprised, grateful, and awe-struck.  It could save a life.

Both book and DVD are available on Amazon. If you’re convinced, after reading the book, that you want to try your first radon bath, call La Casa Day Spa 212-673-2272 to book an appointment.

April 7, 2009 if you want to come to the World Premier showing of the DVD, Because People Are Dying, NewRealities, in its association with the Condordia Foundation and La Casa Day Spa, will be hosting an evening held at La Casa Day Spa. Mark the day: Tuesday, April 5th, 7 pm @ La Casa Day Spa; 41 E 20th St. (between Park and Broadway). Donations gratefully accepted.

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” (Arthur Shopenhauer)

Beware! This is not a fluffy, light, new age message! Proceed to read if you are ready for some planetary truth! My friends have always been bemused by my presence- a blend of an indigenous soul as well as a light-fairy worker, earth and sky… in this post, my earth soul has taken over to speak-

This summer has continued to give me a creepy, restless, anxious and nagging feeling. I have felt tense, irritated, exhausted, fatigued beyond belief, and, in all actuality, like a dying creature. Now I know why! I stated many moons ago that the BP oil spill had taken us into the deep end…I had no idea how deep the deep end was going to be.

The seventh sign of the Hopi prophecy says that the sea will turn black and many living things will die. Indigenous elders have continued to predict famine and war. A Mayan prophet proclaimed if humanity did not unite in natural, earth time, that biospheric destruction would be our fate. The new age writers claim that we are creating our future, be it cataclysmic or benevolent. I have always been a strong believer in reaping what you sow, the simple law of cause and effect. “We are now within the purification of all things. Non-Natives call this the “Apocalypse”. The Native call this the “Purification”. Lee Brown, Cherokee Prophecy

A fact, we, as a race, have spun out of control. We, most people, live disharmoniously with nature. We, modern-day citizens of the world, count time in an unnatural sequence. We, almost everyone, has insatiable wants and desires. We, exempt the indigenous souls who know better, have led unhealthy lives and created a very polluted world. Another fact, according to the Mayan Calendar, we have very little time left in these ugly patterns. Last fact, the masses have no idea how to make deep, sustainable and life-lasting changes.

Have you ever asked yourself, what would it take to awaken all humanity? What would it require to jolt everyone into a new harmonious world? What event would need to occur to remind us of our interdependence as species to all of the natural world? Would an ice age arrival awaken your neighbors? Would mass extinctions of planetary life crack open hearts? Would crop failure and famine finally lead humans to a path of sharing? Would oxygen depletion from the oceans with no chance of survival humble humanity to our knees praying for solutions?

Believe it or not (most people will not, as they choose to remain in the safety cocoon of the denial and other deep rooted belief systems) all these possibilities and more are our current predicaments on Planet Earth. Scientists are just beginning to discover that the North Atlantic Drift and the Norway Current have died due to the oil spill and use of dispersants in the Gulf of Mexico by BP. The Thermohaline Circulation System, which is the oceans conveyor belt controlling temperatures and weather, is in danger of dying everywhere. Without the Caribbean warm waters drifting into the northern hemisphere this year, all residents of those geographic areas can brace themselves for an early and severely icy winter as our next Ice Age begins to descend. As the rest of the currents die, the world can brace itself for the deep unknown. Crop failure has already begun to occur in many places resulting in increased food prices and embargos on shipments. Forest fires, flooding, drought, heat waves, famine… etc. will be the daily events and news on our planet from here on out as the forces of nature bring home to roost hundreds of years of imbalances on Mother Earth. The game is over for everyone.

“And so they say there’s going to be a Third Shaking of the Earth. It’s not going to be a good thing to see but we will survive it. We will survive it.”
Lee Brown Cherokee Prophecy

So many people are going to want to blame BP or President Obama. If you insist on playing the blame game, then go ahead and blame yourself for participating in the madness of the western world. There is no time for blame. We must collectively use our energy to find solutions and if the problems are beyond our modern technology, then we must bow down our heads to our forthcoming predicament and at least learn to live out our dying days as a peaceful species. Maybe then and only then will our galactic neighbors choose to intervene.

Ascension can be reached through death or ascension can be reached through consciously partaking in these times. The choice is yours. Most people, I am afraid, have already, consciously or unconsciously chosen the death option. Those of us who have chosen the other path, our lives are going to be full of burial, grieving, crying, releasing, purifying and living 100% in the moment with the power and glory of our respective paths. Afterall, this is a closing age known as “The Age of Purification”.

In my world, I can no longer think of investments, mortgages, bills, creating business, vacation, clothes, etc. and the whatnot. It’s all steam forward to the rainforest, to a clean stream of water, to an organic farm, to sustainable energy sources and to co-creating this reality with like-minded individuals who have chosen to stay to master the new fifth world. Spirit has released me from keeping a writing schedule for this blog of information. I have written diligently for over one year on the Mayan Calendar, ascension, evolution and other spiritual matters. Now, I will retreat, with very few posts hereon, as I secure a future for my family, friends, and newly founded friends who will be joining my path.

Lee Brown Cherokee Prophecy, “In the cycle of time, from the beginning to the end, this time we are in now will change the purification of all things. They say this is the hardest time to live, but it is also the greatest honor to be alive and see this.”

When the last waves of the Mayan Calendar have completed itself, the Earth will be a lot less populated. I had hoped we would have chosen another route. Those of us remaining will have evolved to homo-pacem as the intensity of the times will demand nothing less. Those of us surviving will be living from our hearts as we would have learned that nothing else ever really mattered. Its do or die my readers, make your move now or forever hold your peace!

I send you blessings even in this last hour as I continue to pray for miraculous solutions.

Last Drop of Oil, Last Grasp of Air
by Zaccai Free

Nonstop the gushing
healing so necessary
why waste time on the blame game
One finger at you three back at me,
lets turn these fingers into a helping hand and set the captives free
Mr BP CEO you messed up so how can we come together in full responsibility
cause you’re only sucking the planets blood to feed my insatiability

Last drop of oil, Last gasp of air
not even enough for a prayer
searching for Nemo in BP’s oily inferno
as above so below
there must be a (chakra) leak internal
energy flows with no end in sight
buttons pushed lead to bad nights
youth on the street express love as a fight
we stuff emotions to work in a box
we profess free while holding tight to all we’ve got
as above so below there’s no separation
the Gulf gusher simply models our multinational/internal/external/ desperation

How many species must die so my car can go?
how many wetlands turned to oily wastelands for the sake of convenient transportation?
In a nation built on slavery and genocide who feels a pinch when filling up the ride?
So separate from cause and effect we wonder if we need to slow down after the wreck
Business as usual, profits at all costs
discounting 7 generations or more, smiling on the way to the mega-store
constantly extracting with no way to give back
no intent to return what’s been taken from the ground and burned
no reciprocity to the support of our humanity
lost in the insanity of unlimited growth fueled by vanity
What are we without fresh water, fertile earth & clean air?
If we can’t sustain life here it’s hubris to think we’ll do better elsewhere

there’s no security in oil more disasters than we care to admit
the corporation is the gun, greed the bullet
we the people squeeze the trigger making decisions oblivious of consequences
the dead children of Operation Iraqi Liberation (oil)
afghani-pipeline-istan, Nigerian fields awash with crude hued blood
strange fruits from Alberta tar sands, oil mixed with mud
We have found the enemy and he is me
i must embrace the other, make the criminal my brother
unconditional love like the fully engaged mother
then we transform pain into joy
blame into opportunity
our oily reality into a sun-drenched, wind blown future of sustainability

Hopkins Seeks Consciousness over Plot
Review by Alan Steinfeld

Slipstream like the title foreshadowed came and slipstreamed out of the theaters with hardly a notice.  But this was a tour-de-force of our very own Anthony Hopkins.  What marks film as most interesting is that it is Hollywood’s final recognition of non linearity, although Charles Kaufman has been doing this for years. Non linearity, meaning what the French director John Luc-Goddard said: “A story can should have a beginning, middle and an end; but not necessarily in that order.”

But I have the feeling there are very few people who will understand the serious effort that Hopkins intended as this picture’s director. No one else could have ripped the guts out of Hollywood in such an expressive way than one of its own.

Writer, director and lead actor of Slipstream Hopkins gives us a post-modern tribute to the life a Hollywood player. “It is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothings,” which I think is exactly Hopkins’ point--- All the hoopla around major motion pictures, their stars, the glamour --ultimately does not amount to a hill of beans.  But something real exists in the making; in those snap shot moments where we catch a glimpse of human emotion.

If Shakespeare were writing today he would have said; “Life is a movie.”  For Hopkins, like all of us, we are the actors, writers and directors of the production called “Our Life”.  I don’t think I would be giving too much away to say that the movie ends when the main character dies.

Essentially Hopkins tears up the linear progression - slashes it back together again and leaves all the loose ends dangling.  This plotless plot is about a writer that has gone cracked pot and has externalized his inner world.  Since the writer/star is Hopkins we can’t help but feel we are getting a direct look into his deeper psyche.  In press notes the maestro Anthony says:  “...every moment just slips past.  What is real?  What is fantasy?  You grasp this moment and then suddenly, it’s gone.  I was talking 10 minutes ago but that’s all gone, it’s all a dream.”

In this Slipstream consciousness Hopkins attempts to make a poetic statement about the nature of his own fabricated existence.  In a Bunelian, Daliesque landscape of the mind he jumps between many levels of reality.  For instance:  Stella Arroyave, Hopkins’ own wife, plays his character’s wife playing an actor in the film he has written that he has actually written. BTW Arroyave is a spectacular presence, a real natural talent and beauty, although this seems to be her first film role.

To frame it in more contemporary terms this film is a hybrid between Being John Mallkovich and Pulp Fiction. For as both Charles Kaufman and Quentin Terentino have shown that it is not continuity that matters, but the singularity of intensity, passion and expression. Here Hopkins does one better by keeping the whole pace of the film very mundane and in a way simple.  In order to make any sense of the film just see one moment at a time.

This point is especially brought home in a comical commentary when the script supervisor on the film that Hopkins is writing is killed and then haunts Hopkins to be brought back to life or else he will have no continuity.  Well this is exactly what happens as the pages from the script blow across the desolate desert set.

A recurring theme throughout is the reference to the 1956 movie, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with a haunting cameo performance by that film’s star, Kevin McCarthy.  Is Hopkins saying that a life of an actor is like a demonic possession that masquerades as a human being?  It seems his perceptions of Hollywood is exactly what most people have suspected; superficial, ego driven, and self-indulgence.  John Turturro’s usual over-the-top performance seems very appropriate in playing a big shot maniacal producer backing the film Hopkins’ character Felix Bonhoeffer has written and is re-writing.

As Eugene Ionesco said, and this movie is a tribute to his absurdist perspective: “A work of art really is above all an adventure of the mind.” Essentially Hopkins is expressing his alienation from a world and system of filmmaking that has so lost the value of what reality truly is.  What Hopkins gives us is not Hollywood, but the true life of the mind that is looking for coherence in a chaotic world of plastic fabrication.

For mainstream this is extreme and advant gaard -in the original sense of the word, but as a piece of visual poetics, Slipstream well worth seeing.  Like Abraham Lincoln said about séances in the Whitehouse: “For people who like that sort of thing, this is the sort of thing they will like.”

After its sweeping win at the Oscars last Sunday, Slumdog Millionarie  seems like the movie everyone wants, and perhaps needs.  It has all the ingredients of escapist fare from the Great Depression  -- a populist hero who overcomes all odds to get the girl and the money.  There's an added element of self-congratulation for the West: by seeing this movie you can see India without getting your hands dirty or offending your nose, and cheer it on. Cinderella didn't walk through tenements and sectarian violence to reach her prince. But in this fairy tale, a concession must be made to modern realities. Dev Patel is symbolic of India here and now, fulfilling its  wildest economic aspirations while being conscious of the darkest aspects of  social decay and despair.

If we follow the metaphor to its logical conclusion, India will get  the money and the girl by rising above its slums.  Perhaps that's why Slumdog has created an uneasy reaction in Mumbai and the rest of India.  Rising above isn't the same as solving. Many well-born educated Indians have looked westward for a long time, which is easier than looking inward. They know  more about the streets of London and New York than the teeming lanes of the  ghettos in their own city.  This is true, of course, among rich elites everywhere, not just in south Asia. Watching Dev triumphantly cross the social line is triumphant, but it reminds you that there is a line.

(Barack Obama crossed the racial line in triumph, also, but notice how much heat his Attorney General, Eric Holder, took when he suggested in less than polite terms that America needs to be more honest and courageous about the whole problem of race.)

Like fairy tales, symbols can pacify deep anxieties.  India dreams of being a millionaire, but it lives with the anxiety that it's really a slumdog.  Or that the slumdogs will one day rise up against the millionaires. You can read the tea leaves any way you like. Another uncertainty attends the film.  Having been made on a shoestring, Slumdog  managed to outgross any number of big-budget Hollywood
films. Last week it ranked fifth in U.S. box office while its nearest Oscar rival, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, was no longer in the top ten.  Brad Pitt, being a megastar, has pulled his film to $122 million, compared to Slumdog's $98 million, but is that really competitive?  Ten movies  on the scale of Slumdog can be made for the cost of one blockbuster that has yet to pay back its cost.

The whole movie industry is watching closely, and the developing world is watching back even more closely.  After two decades of  action flicks with move-your-lips scripts that were primitive enough to appeal to immature male psyches, here is Asia -- via the UK, admittedly -- sending back something sophisticated, poignant, and universal.  It's like the ultimate retort to  colonialism: the coolie and the wallah have more smarts than the sahib.  Indians feel uneasy about that, too.

Will the sahib turn his back and shut them out? Do south Asians have enough self-respect and stature in the world to at last forget that  the sahib ever existed?

We may know the answers in the near future. Bollywood didn't conceive Slumdog. It still purveys mindless entertainment, for the most part,  interspersed with small independent films  that challenge the West for thoughtfulness and freshness. It's not for lack of talent that India  didn't produce Slumdog.  But questions of vision and courage do  arise. Past history and ingrained inhibitions make it hard for  Indian
artists in any field to be as frank and true to life as they should be.  They have yet to seize freedom. The country has yet to shake off its humbling  self-image, although that is occurring faster every day.

If Slumdog is a viable symbol, the future it points to is just  being born. An out-of-the-way picture can dare to be universal, which  means that India may dare to be universal one day. The dispossessed people of  Asia are suddenly aware that they have a place at the table where previously  only the rich dined. Both developments are encouraging.  Meanwhile, one can  marvel at the bald fact that a Bollywood-style anthem,
"Jai Ho," won the  Oscar for Best Song, while Bruce Springsteen wasn't even nominated. The first Academy Awards of the recession turned out to be, as one headline proclaimed, the first outsourced Oscars of all time.

A Universe of a Book by Alan Steinfeld
I love books!  With that I am always reminded of what the Dutch philosopher Erasmus said: “When I have money I buy books. If I have any thing left I buy food.”   I also love people who love books - such as publishing companies like Mandala Publishing.  They disprove the old adage, that you cannot judge a book by its cover.  This company continues to produce spectacular volumes that stretch the visual sense as to what is possible.  These are more than books; they are an emerging art form.  A note from the publisher says:  “In the traditions of the East, wisdom, truth and beauty go hand-in-hand. This is reflected in the great arts, music, yoga and philosophy of India. All of Mandala's works strive to make clear these basic principles.”   Some of the finest that Mandala has to offer is their Celestial Gallery Series by Romio Shrestha. Romio, a skilled artist and native of Nepal, has dedicated this second volume of the two-foot high tome to the Goddesses of the Celestial realms. To peruse it is like being pulled into a universe unto itself.

A few years back I fell into the universe of Romio’s first collection of modern Tibetan thangkas, with all their design, beauty and power.  The recent edition of feminine deities is just as impressive.  These pictures are not just pretty, but each – a divine meditation.  They are places to linger and contemplate the female form and all the spiritual gifts that she has to offer.  In a sense the book is real course in tantra, where the interaction of seeing and seen suggest the coming together of Shiva and Shakti to generate power.

This book is another confirmation of the return of the feminine.  On the opening page of the book is written: “It is time for the thousand goddess to manifest and end the suffering of Maya, the illusionary world.” I feel this is clearly the time for these impressive images of female deities from the Tibetan and Indian traditions to come forth.  We see the principles archetypes here from Green Taras for abundance, to Saraswati, the goddess of the arts and White Taras, “The Divine Mother”, protector and preserver; to Kali, wild and uncontrollable consort of Shiva, devotee of time and keeper of the shadows within ourselves.   As Deepak Chopra writes in the foreword “In its finest moments, art offers a mirror into the soul.”  In this sense these stunning works are the deepest aspects of our own beauty and purity of spirit.  These images hold the potential of archetypal forms that all women (and men) can manifest.  And sitting with them as reflection -a higher potential comes forth out of us.

Even though some people would say these pictures are mere imitations of older Tibetans images, they have a freshness that the others lack.  For those that claim more vibrational power in the relics, I find a greater emanation of energies here, especially in the spirals coming from the heart of the Radiant Taras. They remind me of Alex Grey’s compelling motifs of our vibrational energy bodies, which point us towards our own healing impulse.   Overall for me, it is simply a delight to own this book and get lost in the complexity and splendor of its forms.  It is a universe worth exploring and one that after you swim in it you will never fully leave.

Review of Shirley MacLaine's Sage-ing While Age-ing by Alan Steinfeld

If your family wants to know what goes on at all those New Life Expos give them Shirley Maclaine’s new book,  Sage –ing While Aging.  This is a comprehensive overview all the major topics in the consciousness field; energy healing, alternative dentistry, channeling, Atlantis, 2012.  Ms. Maclaine provides concise information about these and more - mixed in with her own quest for experience and thirst to comprehend the bigger picture of reality.  She states: “I think we stand at a moment in time when survival of our humanness depends on our ability to marry the observance of the invisible forces with the forces of our actions”

After reviewing her years as a showgirl with the likes of Frank, Dean and the rest of the Rat Pack, she gets to what I feel is the real meat of the book.  I can honestly say what Shirley gives us in chapters 7 and 8 is the most comprehensive overview, I have found, on UFOs to date. Those only slightly familiar with the circumstances will receive a great education. Her investigations reports the stark the authenticity of the situation.

Yes it is here that she tells (the now famous tale) about former presidential candidate, Dennis Kucinich, who “had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington…the smell of roses drew him out to my balcony” Beyond this however she goes into every aspect of the UFO question in a neat and orderly fashion leaving the reader no doubt that the phenomenon is real, happening, and viable. It is all here in considerable detail; from the Air force cover-ups; to John Mack’s investigation into the abduction scenarios by ETs; to Disclosure and Exo-politics; a term coined by political analyst Alfred Webre. This is the latest move by people such as Washington lobbyist Steven Bassett to push the government into revealing to the public its secret files.

If you have an intelligent open-mind you will not be able to refuse what Shirley so thoughtfully and thoroughly puts forth. Why this is not in our common awareness is the subject of more detailed upcoming articles by me. But a brief explanation provided by Shirley’s research will suffice for now.  She reveals that military intelligence analyst John Maynard, working for the Defense Intelligence Agency for 21 years was hired to “implement disinformation or misinformation programs” about UFOs.  Maynard states: “… that the military was using the media to keep those UFO researchers from making too much of the issue by having the media brand them as kooks, weird, paranoid, and unbelievable; better yet, by having people who go around chasing after shadows in a belief that UFOs are real and the government is hiding something.  To date, this plan has worked well above average, and the general public still has an opinion that follows whatever the media tells them.”

Shirley initiates the topic with what is simultaneously the beginning of modern UFO encounters and the beginning of modern UFO cover-up, namely the Roswell UFO retrieval of 1947.  She gives us key witness testimony: “According to [US Army Cornel] Corso and Trudeau there were two beings in the craft, described as having small, wiry, trim bodies with eyes that looked like wrap around goggles, who communicated telepathically in English with the humans that found them”

For Shirley, however, the first awareness of the situation happened as a young girl growing up in Virginia. She remembers being moved hearing about a sighting over the nation’s capital. She tells us: “It was a Saturday night, in 1952 (I know because I recorded it in my dairy.) A pilot reported seeing UFOs…and two Air Force F-94 jets streaked over Washington in hot pursuit.  The next morning the banner headline in The Washington Post was SAUCER OUTRAN, JET PILOT REVEALS.”

She really does some fine reporting when she follows-up on the 1952 incident: “Life magazine did a cover story called ‘There Is a Case for Interplanetary Saucers.  Have We Visitors from Outer Space?’  It reviewed ten recent UFO sightings and concluded that they could not be written off as hallucinations, hoaxes, or earthly aircraft.” Highlighting the most important aspect of the Life piece she reveals: “An unnamed officer was quoted saying, ‘the higher you go in the Air Force, the more seriously they take flying saucers.’”

In a very eerie revelation, which is one of the mainstays of UFO folklore, Shirley discloses that: … in 1954, President Eisenhower made a trip to Palm Springs… On the evening of Saturday, Feb 20th, he disappeared…There are a number of sources alleging a meeting between Eisenhower and star beings that constituted a formal ‘First Contact event.’”  What Shirley does not say, but what I have put together from other sources is that at that meeting Eisenhower made a deal with the aliens to allow them to abduct a percentage of the population for genetic experiments, in exchange for knowledge of advance technology.  Pretty strange to be sold-out by your own government, but it is not the first time.

Another revelation: “Perhaps the most important document ever released in Canada is the Top Secret memo of November 21, 1951, from Wilbert B. Smith: ‘We believe that we are on the track of something which may well prove to be the introduction of new technology…the existence of a different technology is borne out by the investigations which are being carried on at the present time in relation to flying saucers.’

Putting it all in perspective Shirley muses; “What could be more interesting than speculating upon who we are, where we come from, and will we come again?”  She, like many others, feel that a great spiritual evolution is already underway, and that it may culminate in a massive shift in consciousness on December 21, 2012 - the date upon which the Mayan calendar ends. “I can feel the polar shift unfolding, which only means that the sacred vortices are moving in accordance with the procession of the equinoxes…Perhaps we should look at the karmic prophecies more as dharmic prophecy."

Summing up in the Afterward Shirley gives us some sage advice: “I know what I’ve written is intense, dense with research that is important to me and may be exhausting to others. …Our human script are in need of rewrites, and we human actors, including me, need to examine our characters more deeply…The theater of our lives with its violent message and education may be the final act of our learning process…I hope the disclosure of all truth will occur on our theatrical illusion called Life. We’ve had enough of cover-ups for ‘our protection’ from Church and Ste.  We as human actors need to take responsibility for creating our own divine play now.”

This declaration from someone on the world stage benefits us all.  She had enough guts to look behind the curtains of the conditioned mind and give us a greater knowledge that we can all learn from. To this we say, “Thank you Shirley, we appreciate your public and private efforts to bring forth truth.”  It is clear that you’ve saged well.
